Is a resting heart rate of 91 dangerous?

I%26#039;m 17 year old female..... 5%26#039;5%26quot; and 170 lbs. I was at the pharmacy and did one of those blood pressure things and my blood pressure was in the low category but my resting heart rate was 91, the machine didn%26#039;t offer any information or charts about the resting heart rate but my boyfriends resting heart rate (He%26#039;s thinner then me) was 70. Looked around on google and found that anything above 80 could be dangerous? Should I go see a doctor about this? Or should a little excersize help me out?

It perfectly alright , but your weight is on higher side, cut it down.

Exercise can help you, and avoid junk food. Yes, talk to your doctor, he will guide you safely OK.

Not anything above 80 is dangerous, at your age and sex you are perfectly normal except for your weight.

Hope this help you out.

Is a resting heart rate of 91 dangerous?

nope, as I nurse I assure you a resting heart rate of 60 to 100 is the normal heart range.

its okay. Some peoples are higher based on what they eat, how much they exercise. Athletes tend to have lower than normal heart rates, for instance. As long as its somewhere in the middle and not too high or too low- you%26#039;re fine.

It really depends on the circumstances. A normal heart rate ranges anywhere from 60 to 90 beats and tends to fluctuate depending on outside factors like previous activity and stress levels. The heart rate you measured could be harmless as it%26#039;s just outside the normal limit. Tachycardia (an extremely rapid heartbeat) isn%26#039;t usually diagnosed until a heartbeat is consistently at 100 bpm. Chances are, you%26#039;re very much normal as long as you aren%26#039;t consistently measured over 90 bpm. Exercise could help lower it and if you%26#039;re worried, of course, see your doctor with any questions you might have.

Your heart rate is fine! You might have one that is on the high side of normal but that is not dangerous at all. And the blood pressure machines at the stores are not that accurate. Why don%26#039;t you take your own pulse. Find the pulse by the artery in your wrist on the side your thumb in on. You can take it for 15 seconds and time the amount you counted times 4 to get your pulse rate. A pulse of 90 is not bad. If you get a resting heart rate over 100 bpm I%26quot;d be concerned. And that usually means your thyroid could be working too hard.

No your fine young people generally have higher pulse rates. If you were in your 40s it could be seen as a problem.

Just the act of having BP taken could cause faster heart rate.

Exercising more can%26#039;t do any harm.

Normal resting heart beat is 60 to 100 per minute. If you are not active you will be on the higher end of these numbers. Ask your doctor to be sure
