Reason for rate of growth of world population is decreasing?

explain why the rate of growth rate has changed since a peak of 2.3%% in 1963, to projected values of about 0.5% around 2040

Reason for rate of growth of world population is decreasing?

Because people stopped having large families in most countries. There have been UN and government programs to reduce the birth rates, the most extreme was China%26#039;s one child policy, but these programs to not really account for the whole decrease. European population growth rates dropped over a hundred years ago, and they have policies that encourage bigger families, and the US had a sudden drop in the birth rate about 1970, neither of which were due to population control programs. Reducing infant mortality rates and providing more opportunities for women reduce the birth rates, and I suspect that the feeling of being crowded also has an effect.
