my download rate for any site is very low ive tryed these things

1.delete internet files

2.delete cookies

3.download acceleratior

4.spyware,malewar,antivirus scans

5.get rid of old downloads

6.getting old memory back

can some one help this download rate realy annoys me

you might need to upgrade your plans speed.

You do that by contact your ISP and talking to them about it. It will cost more money for the internet plan though.

are you on dial-up connection? cable connection? dsl connection?

if you%26#039;re on dial-up - downloading through that is always slow

you%26#039;re better off to splurge on going to dsl or cable

how many programs do you have running? and are any running in the %26quot;background%26quot; - to check this - click Start - Run - a window should pop up - in there type in

msconfig

then click OK

once the system config utilities window opens - click on the startup tab and see what items are running

uncheck the ones you don%26#039;t want running

always leave the microsoft system stuff running and your antivirus items running

other items such as messengers, imaging programs, music download programs don%26#039;t need to be in that list

Get your computer fix at Best Buy first ask the price is good fixed and If is not buy a NEW one.

the download speed is determined by what your isp deal is and also what it is you are trying to download. You don%26#039;t say who your isp is and you can log onto a speedtester site by googling speed test. this will tell you the speed at which your pc is downloading and by comparing it to what your isp tells you you should be getting if there is a great difference then that would be the time to (a) talk to your ISP or (b) taking drastic action with your PC

Get ride of spyware, stop programs running in the backround or on start-up. Go to run, then msconfig, go to startup, see whats running. Also,Make sure you dont have a virus. Website Accelerators DO NOT WORK. If anything, GO Broadband, It has changed my internet life. I run at 920Kbps Pretty fast, trust me it will change the way you use and look at the internet.

By adding a new D-WORD value to the windows registry you can increase the maximum number of connections that IE can make. Note: this involves modification of the registry, be sure to back up the current registry file!

The registry keys to be changed are:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\W... Settings

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft... Settings

Add the following D-WORD values:

max connections value=6 (select decimal for the number)

MaxConnectionsPerl_OServer=6

Now Internet Explorer will load 6 files at the same time instead of the default 2. This tweek will work best with high speed connections (Cable, DSL, T-1).
